Fabulous Friday

This has been such a hectic week at work. I had two 13 hour days this week. For some this is probably normal but when I normally only work 20 hours in a week...26 hours in 2 days is tough!! My boss was nice enough to let me take Friday off. He told me to take Eric to a really nice dinner as well. I wasn't going to argue :)

I had decided to take advantage of my day off and go to Jordan River Temple. I was just getting ready to take the kids to Mary's when the neighbor called and said that they were putting angel Moroni on the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple. We rushed out the door and went up to watch. We drive by the temple on the way to Mary's each day and we've been anticipating this for a long time. It was so amazing to watch and I couldn't believe how many people were there.

This picture was taken while we were waiting. They were waiting for the wind to die down before they could start.

They brought angel Moroni out on this flatbed trailer. Everyone started to cheer when they saw him for the 1st time.

They got him attached to the crane and started to lift him up. The crowd cheered again.

Mary, Kelsey and Kenadee came over too.

After watching the events at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, Mary took all the kids and I headed to the Jordan River Temple. Thank you for watching the kids Mary!! :)

After a day full of temple events, I couldn't wait for Eric to get home from work so that we could go on our fancy date. My boss recommended Flemmings as a really nice restaurant so that is were we made reservations. We got dressed up and headed downtown. I have to say that I felt a little out of place at first because we NEVER go to dinner at places like this. The restaurant was beautiful and very romantic. The first 4 pages of the menu was just wine. Now I know why my boss likes this place so much :) All of the items on the menu are al a carte. Eric and I both ordered filet mignon. It was very big and delicious. We ordered other side items as well and then ordered the yummy dessert sampler. The meal was great and the company was even better. It was really nice to sit there and relax in such a beautiful atmosphere. After dinner we walked around Gateway for a while. This "mall" is very unique (at least in Utah). It was a great evening.

Thank you Mom for watching the kids so that we could have a fabulous night out!! :)

Sounds like a nice time Des. I can appreciate quite time alone with hubby, I crave it and then it seems we get the opportunity and all we can talk about are the kids. Go figure. I also have been able to watch the construction of the new temple as it's been the route to Cayden's preschool all year. How cool to be able to see them put the statue up, it will be such a neat site when it's all finished.
